Tattoos are often seen by society as signs of a troublemaker and it can affect the view of the person by employers, friends, family, and, in reality, everyone. Whether the view from these people is good or bad, can not change the fact that the tattoo is there, and will be for life until the person is willing to spend $1,500 per square inch, and excruciating pain to get rid, in most cases it works fully, however not always, Tattoo removal is not always 100% successful of said tattoo. As it is shown in our passage September 11 Tattoos, tattoos are used to commemorate events, remember lives lost, and to show support of a cause. The tattoos shown in these pictures are to remember the lives lost on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. I feel tattoos are a great form of self expression, however when getting a tattoo, you should consider places that can be exposed, but also be easily hidden in case you choose a profession that does not allow for tattoos.

I definitely agree that one should consider their future before getting a tattoo. A tattoo is permanent and should represent a significant event, for example the September 11th attacks, that occurred in your life and had a major affect on you at an emotional level. And i also agree with the stereotype of "troublemaker." But everyday people do things that they will regret tomorrow, and i suppose there are much worse things than getting a tattoo you didn't think through all that well.
ReplyDeleteI actually just wrote about tattoos, I agree they are a great form of self expression. And yah you really have to think about what your putting on your body because it will be there forever, and incredibly difficult. Which is also why tattoos really do affect your identity, if you feel strongly enough to get it tattoo'd it can really say something about the person's character.
